Most of us live quite busy lives and if you’re anything like me then you might struggle to fit everything in during the week, especially cleaning. When this happens it’s easy to concentrate on the big jobs, the areas that get used the most. There are loads of easily forgotten areas of the home that need cleaning and here are some of them:
Skirting boards
Considering they’re in nearly every room of the house you’d think that these are something easy to remember. However, as a lot of the skirting boards is generally covered by furniture of some kind so often gets missed. It might be an idea to add this to a monthly schedule so that dust and dirt doesn’t build up.
Under the bed
There are lot of different kinds of beds, some with more access to underneath than others. Regardless of the kind of beds you have a lot of people don’t clean underneath them regularly. Some beds might need moving out completely while others you might be able to hoover underneath.
Sofa cushions and throws
No matter what your household set up, if you use your living room and have sofa cushions and throws, you’ll have quite a few things that get used all the time. We sit, we eat, we drink and forget about how dirty cushions can get even if we can see the dirt. Be sure to give these a wash regularly.
Behind radiators
Cleaning the front of your radiators might be a job you do every week or so but what about behind them? These areas are dust traps but sadly they’re an area that gets forgotten about. Try to clean behind the radiators when you do the fronts.
Toaster
Toasters are a much used kitchen appliance in many homes but it’s crazy how full of crumbs they can get and how quickly. Most toasters now have removable trays underneath but this doesn’t always get rid of all of the crumbs. Keep an eye on the inside of the toaster and gently empty if you can.
Cooker extractor
Extractor fans can be a godsend in the kitchen, especially small ones that get steamed up quite quickly. As parts are quite hidden way that are easily forgotten about when it comes to cleaning. The extractor can get sticky and with grease and should be cleaned regularly.
